The seven straight sofas

All seven open into a full sleeping place, and all but Patrik have a linen box.

Dimensions

Every figure in the specifications is in millimetres. A straight sofa needs measuring twice: along the wall, and out into the room.

Folded length

From 900 mm on the narrowest Patrik to 2430 mm on Sheldon. This is the wall the sofa occupies.

Opened depth

From 900 to 1650 mm. That is how far it comes into the room — the strip you must keep clear.

Sleeping area

From 900 × 2000 mm to 1610 × 2040 mm. A double starts at 1400 × 2000.

Seat height

From 390 mm on Chester NEW to 480 mm on Nolan. Lower is a deeper seat, higher is easier to rise from.

Seat depth

From 600 to 870 mm. Patrik is the deepest.

Floor clearance

From 10 mm on Samba New to 170 mm on Patrik. This is the number that decides whether a robot vacuum fits.

The load rating is 100 to 110 kg per seat. All seven have removable cushions.

What is inside

These are the same names that appear in each model’s specification.

• Frame — Solid wood, plywood, particle board and fibreboard; Mark, Samba New and Patrik use a metal frame. The seat base often rests on beech slats.
• Multi Pocket Spring TPS block — Every spring in its own pocket. Fitted to Samba New, Chester NEW, Deni and Nolan.
• Bonnell spring block — The alternative on Deni and Chester NEW: springs linked to one another, an even balance and a long service life.
• Springless — Mark, Sheldon and Patrik. Nothing to creak and nothing to break, with even support across the surface.
• Ecofoam orthopaedic foam — The main working layer in all seven models.
• Memoryfoam — Responds to body heat and follows your shape. Mark carries it as the top layer.
• ReFiberMix thermal felt — A dividing layer between springs and foam.
• Calico inner cover — Patrik has a second cover under the upholstery: the outer fabric can come off and the sofa stays closed.

What to check before ordering

• Measure the wall — and separately the strip in front of the sofa that it will open into.
• If someone will sleep on it every night, choose a sleeping area of 1400 mm or more and a model with a spring unit.
• For a small room, look at Patrik: four widths let you match the sofa to the space exactly.
• For a house with children or pets, Samba New: its cover comes off and washes.
• If the sofa can never be pulled away from the wall, take Deni with its walking mechanism.
