VENETO folding beds — a proper sleeping place, for when you need one
A modern folding bed is more than somewhere to sleep for one night. It can be a practical answer for guests, for a country house, for temporary accommodation, or for any situation that calls for an extra sleeping place without a permanent bed of its own.
The VENETO collection has the Comfort folding bed in two versions: a ready-made solution with a mattress, or the slatted base on its own.
How does a VENETO folding bed differ from an ordinary one?
The main difference is the construction of the sleeping surface.
In simple folding beds the base is often stretched fabric or some other flexible material. VENETO Comfort uses a metal frame with wooden slats.
The slats give the mattress steady support, and the open space between them lets the air circulate.
The result is a compact folding sleeping place that is closer in construction to a bed with a slatted base than to the classic canvas folding bed.
A folding bed with a mattress, or the base alone?
The VENETO collection has two versions.

A ready-made solution that needs no separate choice of mattress.
The metal frame carries wooden slats, and the mattress has a polyurethane foam filling. Its construction is chosen with use on a folding base in mind.
This version is convenient when you need an extra sleeping place that is ready to go: unfold it and use it.
Veneto Comfort folding bed base
The version without a mattress, for those who want to choose the soft part separately or who already have a suitable mattress.
Here it matters to consider not only its size but also its thickness and its flexibility: the folding bed has to fold and store properly.
What is inside?
The frame and the legs of Veneto Comfort are made of metal tube with a powder polyester coating.
The base is made up of 14 wooden slats. They support the mattress along the length of the sleeping area and leave room for ventilation.
The version with a mattress uses a polyurethane foam filling — a practical material for a compact folding sleeping place.
To make it easier to move when folded, the central legs have wheels.
When is a folding bed like this especially useful?
For guests
No need to give up a room to a permanent extra bed. When the sleeping place is not in use, the folding bed folds away and is put out of sight.
For a country house
A practical option when a permanent bed is not needed all year round, or when an extra place to sleep has to be arranged quickly.
For a small flat
A folding bed can serve as a spare sleeping place without permanently taking up usable floor space in the room.

A folding bed or an air mattress?
Both let you arrange an extra sleeping place quickly, but they are built differently.
An air mattress is more compact in storage. A folding bed takes up more room when folded, but it has a frame, legs and a separate base under the mattress.
If the extra sleeping place is used regularly, or if it matters to you that it is raised off the floor, a folding bed can be the more practical answer.
If the main criterion is the smallest possible volume in storage or in transport, that is worth taking into account before buying.
What to check before ordering?
Before buying, check a few things:
- the size of the sleeping area;
- the permissible load of the particular model;
- the dimensions of the folding bed, both folded and unfolded;
- whether you need the ready set with a mattress;
- where the folding bed will be kept when it is not in use;
- whether it will be easy to move it between rooms.
If you are choosing the base alone, check separately that the mattress is compatible with the size and the construction of the folding bed.
Care
A folding bed needs no complicated maintenance.
Dust the frame and the slats from time to time, and check the fixings and the folding mechanism. Before folding a model with a mattress away for a long period, make sure the mattress is dry.
